Convection oven

A convection oven distributes the heat evenly over the entire oven. The temperature is the same everywhere, so you can prepare multiple dishes at the same time. Handy for a large family. Pay attention to the temperature of the recipe, this can sometimes still deviate with a convection oven.

(Electric) oven

The electric ovens or the “normal” ovens are perfect for baking cakes or breads. You can turn on the elements at the same time or separately. If you turn them on at the same time, the dish rises well and is cooked well. You can also turn them on separately, which gives you a crispy bottom or crust. So you bake best in the middle of the oven. This oven uses more energy than the other ovens.

Combination oven

If you want to prepare dishes in the oven as well as in the microwave, this is the oven you are looking for. This type has all the oven functions and has a microwave function. It is especially recommended if you have little space in your kitchen and cannot place an oven and microwave. A combination oven is usually slightly smaller than a normal oven.

Steam oven

In a steam oven, dishes are prepared without losing their taste and vitamins. A steam oven converts water into steam to cook the dishes. There are differences in steam ovens. You have steam ovens with partial or full steam and combi-steam ovens. Most have a baking function, but this does not apply to all models. Please note that you remove the water after each use.

  • Steam ovens with partial steam
  • Full steam steam ovens
  • Combi steam ovens

In ovens with partial steam, steam is added to the dish at the beginning for a crispy layer. The rest of the baking process is done with hot air.

Ovens with full steam are perfect for cooking meals. You can prepare steamed vegetables or pasta and rice. This is healthier because no oil or butter is used. You do not have standard oven functions, so it is only useful if you already have an oven.

The combi-steam ovens have a microwave function in addition to a baking and steam function. There are combi-steam ovens with a partial or full steam function.

Gas oven

A gas oven is heated by a gas burner at the bottom of the oven. The fire is divided into small flames by means of a pipe. So it is best to bake a little higher in the oven. You sometimes have to light the gas burner manually, but usually the ovens have an automatic ignition.

4D oven

A 4D oven is actually a hot air oven that works extra precisely. The heat is distributed even more evenly over the oven. Fans are used that rotate in different directions. They are fairly new and usually have extra gadgets such as apps and steam supply, but you pay a little more for them.
